Manifest Film is an award winning production company based in Bucharest, Romania, established by experienced producer Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan. We are getting involved in daring films, with a relevant perspective on the social and political international scene. The producer Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan (member of EFA and OSCAR) created the production company Manifest Film with the interest of investing in strong films and in the accounts of women, both in front of and behind the camera.
Through the films produced by Manifest Film, we've had a Best European Documentary Nomination at European Film Awards 2020, an Oscar possibility (doc ACASA, MY HOME - not only having reviews but listed for Oscar in The Hollywood Reporter by Scott Feinberg, in Variety by Clayton Davis, in Film Experience by Grenn Dunks etc), we've won 4 Gopo awards (Romanian National Awards), we've won Best Documentary Film awards in over 20 International Film Festivals, and we've had films in most of the A-list festivals including Sundance, Berlin, Hot Docs, IDFA, Krakow Film Festival and so on.
In 2020 we have produced our most successful film to date, the feature length documentary ACASA, MY HOME, the debut film of director Radu Ciorniciuc. The film has been sold in over 17 territories, has received over 40 awards, including Best Cinematography in Sundance, and nominated for Best European Documentary in EFA. In 2018 we produced the feature length documentary TIMEBOX by Nora Agapi, winner of Best Film in Jihlava and other prestigious awards and festivals, in 2017 the Romanian national success called FREE DACIANS / DACII LIBERI (feature documentary) by Andrei Gorgan and Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan and in 2016 another successful feature documentary, A MERE BREATH by Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan, awarded as Best Documentary in Sarajevo and other 10 international awards, distributed on Mubi and Amazon .
